      Community Land Trusts (CLTs) are nonprofits focused on maintaining control of residential, commercial and bare(land) property. The CLT concept was developed by Robert Swann. Swann established the first recorded American CLT in Albany, Georgia.
            Called New Communities Inc. it was inspired by Ralph Borsodi, who had shared an interest in the Indian “Gramdan,” or village gift movement. 

Radi8Royal's is incorporated as Reclaim Rural Community Land Trust (RRCLT.) Being a land trust is the cornerstone of our mission to rebuild and strengthen communities from within.

The concept of a CLT is rooted in the belief that land should be owned and managed by the community for the benefit of all its members, not just the richest few. This model allows us to keep housing AFFORDABLE, ensuring that residents are not displaced due to gentrification.

By placing land ownership in the hands of the community, we can create long-term stability, security, and empowerment for those who live and work here.

Rebuilding community means more than just providing affordable housing; it’s about fostering trust and cooperation among neighbors. In today’s society, many communities have become fragmented, with individuals feeling disconnected from one another. Radi8Royal seeks to counteract this by encouraging collaboration and resource-sharing among community members. Through our workshops and initiatives, we teach skills like sustainable living, budgeting, and urban gardening—practical tools that not only benefit individuals but also strengthen the fabric of the community as a whole.

By trusting each other and pooling our resources, we can create a self-sustaining ecosystem where everyone contributes to and benefits from the collective good. This approach empowers community members to take control of their future, ensuring that the neighborhood remains vibrant, inclusive, and resilient. The Radi8Royal CLT is more than just a housing initiative; it’s a movement to reclaim the power of community and rebuild it on a foundation of trust, cooperation, and mutual support.
